For less portable items, we can arrange for a valuer to call at your home.
there is also no charge for this service and no obligation to sell.

For many executors the
responsibility of dealing with a deceased's estate is a once in a life
time experience. You have to make an important number of decisions in
a short space of time, often at a time when the loss is the most difficult
to come to terms with. The professional advisor to the estate (usually
a solicitor) will usually recommend obtaining a valuation for probate.
This will be in the form of a written report of chattels over an agreed
minimum value, together with a lump sum total for the remaining contents.
Often with larger estates it is advisable to obtain a full inventory
of contents, which can eliminate third party claims that items are missing.
The executors should protect themselves from spurious claims by obtaining
a proper inventory.

Providing your insurers
with a written valuation will enable you to obtain the cover that is best
suited to your requirements. Briefly, you are the one telling your insurer
what is to be covered. They, therefore, know the risk and can calculate
the premium accurately.
Over insuring your furniture and effects means paying higher premiums for
unwanted cover. This can be as costly as discovering that something is not
covered when you have to make a claim.
Once we receive your instructions we make a suitable appointment to visit
your home where we can discuss what needs to be included and offer guidance
as to cost. Following our visit you will be provided with a valuation
report. This will contain a full description of each item, the basis of
the valuation and its re-instatement value. Photographic records may also
be recommended.
