Paintings & Prints
This very busy department deals with a huge selection of antique and contemporary paintings, prints and sculpture every month. The sale usually contains around 400 lots, ranging in value from £50 up to many thousands of pounds. We can give you a current assessment of value, and if you decide to sell we provide professional multiple images on our website, with live bidding on the internet. Fashions in the art market are constantly changing, but we can give you a current valuation and advise on the best way to sell.
We recently sold a studio collection of around 200 paintings by Harry Pearson which had been inherited by the artist’s family. We divided the collection into small lots and dedicated a section of the sale to the studio. There was enthusiastic bidding in the room and on the internet, and the collection raised over £30,000.
For free valuations you can bring your pictures along to one of our valuation days, Mondays or Fridays, 9-1pm and 2-5pm. Items can be left for sale on any weekday except saledays or viewdays.
