Movie Posters are lots 1-131 and will be sold commencing at 1pm on Wednesday 3rd May
The Pictures and Prints are lots 132-450 and will be sold commencing at 2pm on Wednesday 3rd May
The first 131 lots of this sale are movie posters all from one private collector who worked for many years at the Odeon Cinema, Marble Arch in London.
This is evidenced by a personal invitation to the Cinema’s re-opening in 1964, various invites to Royal performances and personal letters and contracts (sold in previous sales). Whilst many of these posters may be from the cinema directly, others were traded, having titles and prices written on the reverse.
We urge looking closely at all images for condition as we will only offer the following guide (for the posters only). We cannot provide additional condition reports to the one provided and offer no condition reports for Lobby Cards due to the volume in each lots. The entire collection are genuine posters, most used, all are folded as should be expected for original posters of this age. None of the posters have been lined or restored. Many of the posters suffer from some age related wear and for the purpose of the condition we are only assessing the image side and not the reverse of the poster.
We will not offer returns on the basis of condition.
