Gallop For Good! Rocking Horse Makes £1,600 For Charity

29th November 2023

Burstow & Hewett is delighted to share the heartwarming success story of our recent Homes & Interiors auction on the 29th November. A beautifully crafted Vintage Rocking Horse, steeped in nostalgia and restored to its former glory, found a new home while also contributing to a worthy cause when it went under the hammer. Sold on behalf of Hastings and Rother Voluntary Association for the Blind the bids galloped past the estimates and sold for a whopping total of £1,600!

The Rocking Horse was made by famous makers Stevenson Brothers with a plaque numbered 2555 and dated 1997.

The full hammer price raised on the day will be received by the charity as is the case with all items sold on behalf of registered charities by Burstow & Hewett. Do you work for a charity and have something we could sell? Get in touch today via our online valuation form
